over to the darkside
I mentioned earlier in my Stay Gorgeous post that I’m especially badass when I wear a dark lip. I guess the proof is right here. The dark lip makes me feel sexy and edgy. The only con is that my boyfriend refuses to kiss me when I’m wearing it, as the color tints anything that touches it. The trick is to catch him off guard (wink, wink).
This lippy requires a retouch every hour or so if I’m eating and drinking, or else some areas on my lips look faded. It’s not a cute look when that happens.
On this day, I was sipping on rosé for about eight hours. My girlfriends and I sat around ordering what felt like a never-ending, yet very welcome, flow of wine. At one point, my friend actually kicked the wine stand over trying to take a selfie Snapchat. Social media can be very dangerous, obviously. Don’t worry though—the wine from that bottle had already been poured out.
My lippy deteriorated quickly as I never put my glass down, demanding many mirror runs. Tough, I know.
The dark lip inspired me to wear a colorful vegan leather jacket over a vintage band muscle tee. I completed the look with a gray maxi skirt, Jeffrey Campbell Reverb booties, blue reflective Illesteva sunnies, and a gray Boy Chanel Flap Bag.
